What fills you up when you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or emotionally drained? How do you know whether you need physical rest, relational connection, a mental break, or time with Jesus?

Learning to identify and communicate our needs has helped us stay healthier, more connected, and more grounded in who God created us to be—but this has not always come naturally to us.

In today’s conversation, we share some of our own struggles with running on empty, recognizing when we’re moving into the “yellow circle,” and discovering the deeper needs beneath irritability, numbing, unhealthy coping, increased temptation, scrolling, overeating, or disconnection. We’ve also learned that the things we expect to fill us up do not always meet the need beneath what we’re feeling.

Our hope is that, through our conversation, you learn how to become better teammates by communicating needs, choosing curiosity over criticism, extending grace while you figure out what truly restores you, and creating space for one another to rest, process, connect, and spend time with Jesus.
